Would You Go Hungry, Black & Blue?

Music is one of those things that can deeply touch my little ol' soul. I recently stumbled across Adele's version of "To Make You Feel My Love" and it's quickly become my favorite version of the song. Her voice is almost hauntingly beautiful and the lyrics couldn't be more romantic.

"I could make you happy/ Make your dreams come true/ Nothing that I wouldn’t do/ Go to the ends of the earth for you/ To make you feel my love"

First dance material? I think so...

The Art of Marriage

by Wilferd A. Peterson
The little things are the big things.
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say "I love you" at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is at no time taking the other for granted;
the courtship should not end with the honeymoon.
It should continue through all the years.

It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is standing together facing the world.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.

It is doing things for each other,
not in the attitude of duty or sacrifice,
but in the spirit of joy.

It is speaking words of appreciation
and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is not expecting the husband to wear a halo
or the wife to have wings of an angel.
It is not looking for perfection in each other.

It is cultivating flexibility, patience,
understanding and a sense of humor.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow.

It is finding room for the things of the spirit.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It is establishing a relationship in which the independence is equal,
dependence is mutual and the obligation is reciprocal.
It is not only marrying the right partner,
it is being the right partner.

One of my very favorite weddings had this read during their ceremony and it was one of those things in life that struck me deeply. Marriage is so much more than saying you love another person. It's all of these things in the poem.

Cheers!

On Fire!

One of my very favorite quotes goes a little something like this...

"Love is friendship set on fire"

I think that's one of the best things about finding that one person for you. Not only are they your "love bunny" but they are also the person who's got your back no matter what.

Love is great and all but here's to having a honey who'll laugh at your jokes even when they're not all that funny.

Happy Friday, ya'll!

A Kiss

"A kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature to stop speech when words become superfluous."
-Ingrid Bergman

True words spoken by Casablanca's leading lady. Here's hoping that all of you are lucky enough to receive some of nature's lovely tricks. Words can be highly overrated!
